What people actually send
Nine bouquets, with the note each one was built around. None of them are complicated — a few stems and one true sentence is the whole formula. Copy the shape, not the words.
The year you moved and made it look easy.
The birthday one
Full and warm without tipping into a declaration.
Make one like it →I was out of line about the dinner thing. I made it about me.
A soft apology
Modest, not overreaching. The note does the real work.
Make one like it →It is raining here and I am at the kitchen table, thinking of you.
Someone far away
Quiet colours for a message about patience.
Make one like it →You covered my shift on Friday and I know you had plans.
Thank you, properly
Names the thing instead of saying “I appreciate it”.
Make one like it →No need to answer this — just wanted the flowers to be there.
Get well
Nothing that asks for a reply on a bad day.
Make one like it →Was just thinking about you. That is the whole message.
Just because
The Tuesday version. No occasion, no explanation.
Make one like it →Eleven years and I would still pick you.
Anniversary
Two stems is enough when the note is specific.
Make one like it →No advice and no silver linings. I am just here.
A hard week
For the moments that do not want cheer.
Make one like it →Saw this and thought of you, no reason at all.
One tulip
Proof you do not need nine stems to send something.
Make one like it →What the examples have in common
Every note names one concrete thing. Not “happy birthday, hope it's a great one”, but the move, the shift covered, the thing they said at dinner in March. The flowers are decoration; the detail is the gift.
The second pattern is restraint. Two or three stems, a short message, and an ending. A bouquet with nine flowers and a paragraph of general warmth reads as effort spent in the wrong place.
If you are stuck, start from a message template and change it until it sounds like something you would say out loud. If it would be slightly embarrassing to read aloud, it is probably right.
